Ahead of ‘Sooryavanshi’ release, Akshay Kumar pens a heartfelt post, says the film is ‘special to me in more ways than one’ – Times of India

After a long wait, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif is all set to have a theatrical release on November 5.

Ahead of the special occasion, the ‘Khiladi’ star took to his Twitter handle to share a heartfelt post with his fans along with a still from the movie.

In the still, Akki is seen engaged in a gun battle with an autorickshaw burning in the background. Along with it, he wrote, ‘I’ve done a lot of action in my career…hanging from helicopters, jumping across buildings, crazy bike chases. #Sooryavanshi is special to me in more ways than one, it is my ode to that old school action but on a grander scale,releasing in cinemas tomorrow 🍿#1DayToSooryavanshi’

‘Sooryavanshi’ was supposed to hit the theatres in March last year. However, owing to the COVID-29 pandemic and the resulting lockdown, the release date was pushed ahead indefinitely. Now that the theatres have opened across the nation, the makers have locked in November 5 as the release date for the movie.

The film brings back the popular jodi of Akshay and Katrina who have impressed the audience in the past with their sizzling chemistry in films like, ‘Welcome’ and ‘Namaste London’. The movie will also have special cameos by Singham aka Ajay Devgn and Simmba aka Ranveer Singh.

Apart from this, Akshay has a line-up of some very interesting films ahead of him that includes ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Prithviraj’, ‘Cinderella’ and others.
