Android 13 beta adds Play Store search to Pixel Launcher: This is what it means for users – Times of India

Google wants to know if the recent changes made to the search on Android 13 have improved or not. It has been surveying users about some of the changes made to the search in the Android 13 beta. Here’s what the search looks like on Android 13.
With Android 13, the search at the bottom of the home screen and one at the top of the app drawer will show users the websites, apps, app shortcuts, and contacts. And if there are no results, Google will show you an option to continue the search on YouTube, Google Maps, and the Google Play Store. Android 13 might add one more thing to the search – the inline Play Store search.
9to5Google reports that Google has been testing online Play Store search with some Android 13 beta users on a few selected Pixels. So, if one is searching for an app not installed on their phone, the search will show them the app listing from the Play Store showing the developer’s name and rating below it, and tapping the result will take you to the app’s page on the Play Store.
The publication notes that the feature is not live for everyone. But we expect it to be made available to everyone once the stable release begins.
Meanwhile, Google has been running a feedback campaign on the “Google Opinion Rewards” app. The questionnaire shows different snippets of the upcoming search coming to Android 13, highlighting the changes.
