‘Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal’ scheme, operational in Bihar since 2016, has reached its goal, said the state’s Minister of Public Health Engineering Department Ramprit Paswan on January 21. He further said that the Bihar government has sent back the remaining amount of Rs 6,000 crore of the scheme to the Central government. “Special status was being demanded when there was a fund shortage. The Centre has given many packages. Every Panchayati Raj work has been completed,” he added. Officially launched in September 2016, Bihar’s Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal (tap water in every home) scheme aims to provide clean drinking water through taps in urban and rural households.
