The BSE Sensex hit a record high of 61,353.25 before closing 568.90 points or 0.94% higher at 61,305.95. The NSE benchmark Nifty50 index settled 176.80 points or 0.97% higher at 18,338.55 after touching an all-time high of 18,350.75. The gains in the market were led by banking, IT, metal and energy stocks.
