Exclusive! Jisshu Sengupta playing a key role in ‘Sita Ramam’ | Bangla Movie News – Times of India

Jisshu Sengupta, the heartthrob who has charmed his way into the hearts of cinema lovers, has proved his mettle not just in Kolkata and Mumbai but down South also. He has been making all the right noise playing a wide range of characters over the past few years. Jisshu’s natural acting has earned him a lot of praise from critics and audiences alike.The ever-busy actor has already been seen in a number of South films including Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Acharya’, Nithiin and Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘Bheeshma’, Nani’s ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ and ‘Thalaivii’ to name a few. And now, ETimes has exclusively learned that the seasoned actor is also a part of the much-talked-about ‘Sita Ramam’ which has Dulquer Salman and Mrunal Thakur in the lead. A source close to Jisshu shared with us, “Yes, he is a part of ‘Sita Ramam’ but we can’t divulge anything about his character. What we can say right now is the character he is playing has a key role to play in the narrative and Jisshu is super thrilled to do the film. He is also happy to work with director Hanu Raghavapudi.”Apart from Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna, ‘Sita Ramam’ also has Sumanth, Tharun Bhascker, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj and Jisshu Sengupta in important roles. The film is all set to release in theatres on August 5.Meanwhile, Jisshu whose last Bengali film was ‘Baba Baby O…’ has another interesting film lined up. Titled ‘Megh Peon’, the relationship drama sees Jisshu, Abir Chatterjee and Subhashree Ganguly in the lead. The Indraadip Dasgupta directorial, an intriguing story of an aristocratic family from North Kolkata against the backdrop of Durga Puja, has been conceived as a tribute to iconic filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh. Jisshu will be seen opposite Subhashree in the film.
