Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has confirmed Rahul Gandhi’s disinterest in running for the party president, and also clarified that he himself will be running for the post. This essentially means that a non-Gandhi will assume the presidency of Congress for the first time in 25 years. While Gehlot is considered the frontrunner due to his proximity to the current leadership, Shashi Tharoor is the other popular contender for the post.
