Global PC market sees highest growth in Q3 2020 in the past 10 years: Report – Times of India

Global PC market has recorded the highest growth it has seen in the past 10 years with a 12.7% jump year-over-year in Q3 2020, according to a report by Canalys. The report revealed that the shipments reached 79.2 million in this quartet as it “continued to benefit hugely from the COVID-19 crisis.”
The report claims that the global notebook shipments touched 64 million units as demand continued to surge due to second waves of COVID-19 in many countries and “companies continued to invest in longer-term transitions to remote working.”
In terms of market share, the report claims that the top positions taken by Lenovo with growth of 11.4% and shipments surpassed the 19 million mark making the company’s market share at 24.3%. Close to that was HP with a 23.6% market share, 11.9% growth and 18.7 million units shipped.
The third place was secured by Dell with 15.1% market share and close to 12 million shipments. The fourth and the fifth place were secured by Apple and Acer that clocked an annual growth of 13.2% and 15% respectively.
