In a review meeting of the Jal Jeevan Mission, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Jal Jeevan Mission is an important scheme to connect every household with tap water in view of the rugged geographical conditions and scattered settlements in the State. The CM directed that the concerned departments and officers should speed up various works going on in the State under the mission and complete them within the stipulated time period so that people can get water from taps even in remote areas. He said that officials must strive to make Rajasthan a leading state in the Jal Jeevan Mission. All the ongoing works must be expedited and new works be started immediately so that they can be completed on time.The Chief Minister also said that due to the Russia-Ukraine war, there has been an unprecedented hike in prices of many commodities. This has created difficulties in the implementation of the works. In view of all these situations, he has requested the Prime Minister to extend the time limit of Jal Jeevan Mission, so that every family can get the benefit from this mission.
