Kangana Ranaut celebrates #2YearsofManikarnika: The movie which broke my bones and also broke many records – Times of India

Kangana Ranaut shared a post on Twitter celebrating two years of her directorial debut ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. The actress shared pictures of her injury on Twitter and wrote, “The movie which broke my bones, 20 stitches n two fractures also broke many records. Highest weekend, Highest single day collection, Third highest grosser in the long list of blockbuster woman centric films and also most successful Indian film in Japan. #2YearsofManikarnika.”

‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ was a period drama based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai, with Kangana Ranaut essaying the lead. The film featured an ensemble cast of Jisshu Sengupta, Atul Kulkarni, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Ankita Lokhande in pivotal roles. Recently, Kangana Ranaut had announced the film’s sequel titled ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda’. The film will be based on the life of ‘The Cleopatra of Kashmir’ Didda, who ruled in the Valley directly and indirectly for around five decades during the 10th and 11th centuries. Promising yet another powerful film, Kangana added, “Many called it the best historic film in recent times but we as team Manikarnika promise to make Manikarnika returns the legend of Didda bigger better and a world class franchise #2YearsofManikarnika #ManikarnikaReturns The Legend of Didda.”

Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in ‘Thalaivi’. Directed by AL Vijay, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Apart from this, Kangana also has ‘Tejas’ and ‘Dhaakad’.
