Kia Sonet: Made in India, designed for world

Fast forward to 2020 to meet the Kia Sonet – unarguably a supreme blend of comfort, convenience and stunning aesthetics. In fact, Sonet is the first of many to come in quick succession. Nissan Magnite, Toyota Urban Cruiser and Skoda Vision In are waiting in the sidelines, rearing to impress.
Sonet, Kia’s third offering in India, a ‘made-in-India’ SUV, was premiered on Friday. Undoubtedly, after Seltos’s tremendous start, the pressure is double on the Sonet. Surprisingly, we believe Sonet can replicate the success of Seltos if not surpass by a long distance. After the world premiere of Kia Sonet, all eyes are on the launch. Here’s all we know so far about Sonet:

Take a look at five key features of the Kia Sonet:
1. Engine
The Sonet will be offered in two petrol and one diesel engine option, which includes – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel, and a 1.0-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual gearbox, a DCT automatic, an all-new Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) unit, and an automatic torque converter for the diesel model.
iMT technology was first introduced in the Hyundai Venue. The iMT technology is very different from the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) or the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). iMT is basically a modified manual transmission which still gives the driver power over the gearstick without the use of a clutch pedal.

The Kia Sonet with its stylish and bold looks is aimed to offer a solid on-road presence and a premium youthful appeal.
The Kia Sonet has a very powerful appearance with ‘heartbeat’ LED DRLs with integrated indicators and the ‘heartbeat’ LED taillamps make sure that the car doesn’t go unnoticed.
