The number of corporators in the BMC will remain at 227 for the forthcoming elections. On Wednesday the two-member cabinet of the Eknath Shinde – Devendra Fadnavis government reversed the Maha Vikas Aghadi government decision of increasing the number of councillors to 236. The cabinet has reversed the increase in seats for all local bodies. With the Supreme Court firm on elections to local bodies being conducted in time, sources said the BMC elections will be conducted in October.
