Nagarjuna Akkineni opens up about being labelled as ‘south ka actor’, says he is proud of his roots – Times of India

Nagarjuna Akkineni, who has worked in films across Indian languages for over decades, recently opened up about being labelled as ‘south ka actor’ even today.

Spilling some beans on the same, the ace actor told a news portal that despite having worked for decades even now, whenever he walks into a restaurant somewhere in Delhi or Mumbai, people say ‘south ka actor’ hai. He has even heard the CISF guys saying the same thing at airports. However, the actor added that nonetheless he is proud of his roots.

In the same interview, his son Naga Chaitanya added that it is nice that the whole south Indian north Indian divide is getting diluted with the advancement in technology. According to him, we are all human beings and we all connect to the same emotion. It’s good that films are also being seen in that way now.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Nagarjuna will be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. It will also feature Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in key roles. ‘Brahmastra’ is scheduled to hit the theatres in September this year.

Naga Chaitanya, on the other hand, will be seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ co-starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film is slated to release on April 14, 2022.
