In order to cater for the needs of both military and civilian applications, this national seminar is being organized for the first time to bring researchers and Indian industries on to common platform to establish Eco-system locally in view of the ever increasing e-mobility demand globally and to mutually understand the intricacies related to various energy storage systems. The seminar is organized in seven technical sessions with an exclusive session for the industries in which the best fifty technical papers will be presented either orally or by posters.
Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Adviser to the Raksha Mantri would attend as Chief Guest for this national seminar. Many eminent personalities of various organizations would also deliver keynote addresses and speeches.
The seminar will bring the leading scientists, academicians, technocrats, and researchers from various laboratories, universities, institutions, industries, and armed forces together to exchange information and share their valuable experiences.
As part of this seminar, a research facility “Advanced Batteries R and D Facility” was coronated by Outstanding Scientist and the Director of NSTL Dr. Y Sreenivas Rao on Tuesday in the presence of Dr. A. Srinivas Kumar, Outstanding Scientist,Dr. TVSL Satyavani and other scientists, officers, and staff. This facility will be utilized to carry out research on the latest technologies that are of interest to both defence and civilian applications.
NSTL is engaged in the development of various energy storage devices based on different chemistries for high-power applications for the last five decades and made significant contributions. While NSTL has always been focused on the development of high-power storage devices for underwater weapons, the work initiated on the development of Lithium-ion battery technology paved the way for the design of batteries for high-energy applications and thus opened avenues for the civilian sector.
