Rohit Shetty on working with Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan: I dont have a story for them right now -Exclusive! – Times of India

Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar in the lead and Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh has revived the prospects and hopes of the Hindi film industry. And with the box-office success of the film, people have already started speculating about the future of his cop universe and franchises. There’s been conjecture that Salman Khan, who already has a cop franchise (Dabangg) of his own, could be a natural addition to Shetty’s cop universe.

ETimes brought to Rohit’s attention that both Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan have had prolific careers playing cops on-screen. We asked him if he’d like to bring them into his cop universe as well. Rohit responded, “I can’t say anything right now. Because it will be a very irresponsible statement from my side. Because at present I don’t have a story or a thought on that subject. If I get such a story then I will work on it but at present we are focusing on the next ‘Singham’ film because since 2014, there hasn’t been a solo Singham film.”

Rohit has plans of the next Singham film, but he revealed that will take time because right now he’s focused on his next film with Ranveer Singh. He said, “There are many stories. We have not started writing anything yet. We have the basic idea for ‘Singham’ but it’s not the next release on the cards. My next is ‘Cirkus’, which will release next year and after ‘Cirkus’ we will start shooting for ‘Singham’ in 2023.”
