Delhi’s Patiala House Court has directed Jacqueline Fernandez to appear before it on September 26 in connection with Rs 200-crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. According to a news agency, the court ‘took cognizance of the supplementary chargesheet filed in the case recently’ and issued the summons. This comes after the Enforcement Directorate named Jacqueline as an accused in the supplementary chargesheet. ED has alleged that Jacqueline, who was rumoured to be in a relationship with the jailed conman Sukesh, received gifts worth crores from him knowingly that they were bought from the ‘proceeds of crime.’ A while ago, ED has attached assets worth Rs 7.27 crore belonging to the actress in connection with its money laundering probe.
