Sony has launched a new gaming controller designed for iPhones. The controller isn’t exactly all-new. It is basically a PlayStation Edition of Backbone One. The controller is currently available in limited regions and it costs $99.99 (approximately Rs 7,926).
The Backbone One mobile controller is a two-piece unit which attaches to either end of the iPhone and connects via Bluetooth. The controller is designed to let users play PlayStation games on their iPhone via PlayStation remote app called Remote Play.
Also, the controller is compatible with almost all iPhones irrespective of their size. One thing that feels weird here is the design of the analog stick which looks like an Xbox controller. Also, the controller carries PS5 DualSense controller-like finish and comes with a mix of White and Black.
The game controller also comes with a dedicated headphone jack that allows users to connect their favourite headphones while playing games.
We at the moment don’t know whether the controller will allow players to stream and play games from other platforms or not. However, the regular Blackbone One is compatible with other platforms. So, it is expected that the PS version will also be compatible.
Also, for those who don’t know, Remote Play is a Sony PlayStation remote gaming app that allows users to stream games on their smartphones. But, to be able to play games online, users need to keep their PS console connected to the internet all the time as the app basically streams the game from the console.
