Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise on June 14 received mixed emotions from his fans. While some mourned the loss of the actor, some others protested and spewed hatred towards people they felt are responsible. His ‘Dil Bechara’ co-star Swastika Mukherjee recently opened up about how people on social media slammed her constantly for not putting up a statement after his death.

Talking to a news portal, Swastika reportedly said people are just selling the actor’s death and are not feeling responsible for his family that is still alive. According to her, his family was not given any time to grieve. She also added that media is doing its job but as fans and friends they need to ensure his family has space. She stated that like others, she too wants justice for the actor.

Elaborating more, she added that fans should understand that people have their way of grieving. Citing her experience, she added that she got comments on social media like, ‘You are bitch’, ‘You should die’, ‘What kind of rope do you want to hang yourself with and how can we courier it to your house’ etc.

Swastika also reportedly said that she does not feel it is not important for public figures to write everything they are feeling and what they are standing up for. If they do not do, people conclude that they are not bothered.

She revealed that she lost her father this year and he could not watch this film when it was released. And then Sushant’s terrible tragedy happened. According to her if she wants to put up something as a mark of love and affection for Sushant, she should be allowed to do it at her own pace.
