Tabu believes Irrfan Khan redefined her life and taught her to be true to her characters – Times of India

Tabu is considered to be one of the most iconic actors in the industry with many cult films to her body of work. The actress has worked with Irrfan Khan in films like, ‘The Namesake’, ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Haider’ and she says he redefined her life.

She added that it’s Irrfan who taught her how to be true to her characters and to herself. In an interview with Film Companion, Tabu said that Irrfan affected her a lot and she changed after working with him. She revealed that sometimes people come into your life, redefine you and you see things differently. After working with Irrfan, she learnt to be true to her characters and brought that to her work.

She further added she can’t begin to describe what Irrfan meant to her. But what she shared with him onscreen cannot be replicated again with anyone and that’s perhaps for everyone to see.


Tabu is currently working with Ajay Devgn on ‘Drishyam 2’ and ‘Bholaa’ but expressed that her experience with the actor on both the films is completely different. Ajay is also a director on ‘Bholaa’ and she thinks he is a completely different human being when he is directing. Tabu added that while Ajay would joke around on the sets of ‘Drishyam 2’, he wouldn’t see anything else when he’s directing. He gets so serious.

Tabu’s last film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ was a huge success at the box-office and she got a lot of appreciation for her role in the film.
