Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya painted the town red with their love story when they tied the knot in a dreamy destination wedding in 2017. It came as a shock to their fans when the couple announced their separation last year.

Today, we got our hands on an old interview where the actress spoke about not giving up her career after marriage. In the 2016 interview, Samantha stated that it wasn’t difficult for her to make equal space with the heroes, adding that she knows how difficult it is for most actresses to get roles that are not secondary to the heroes. The actress felt that she was blessed because she did her first film ‘Ye Maaye Chesave’ where she had a role on par with the leading actor Naga Chaitanya who she was all set to marry.

Elaborating further, Samantha told the news portal that she comes from a humble background and her parents are middle-class people. Getting a big launch was a dream for her.

Back then, the actress had also said that she doesn’t think about being Akkineni Nagarjuna’s daughter-in-law. The actress added that pride has been part of her personality. According to her, she has never stopped to admire what she has done. Because she didn’t think she had achieved much. Samantha also felt that she still has a long way to go and that was one of the reasons why she won’t give up her career after marriage.

On the work front, she was last seen in a song titled, ‘Oo antava’ from ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.
