Zoom: Zoom adds 5 new features to make you ‘look good’ and have ‘fun’ during meetings – Times of India

Zoom has added five new features to make it easy for people to look good on video meetings while working from home and also have some fun with friends and colleagues. New features include filters, lighting, reactions, noise cancellation and more control on presentations. These new features bring in the casual and fun elements to resemble the office culture of a virtual meeting, making working from home less challenging.
Low lighting is a common problem while working from home and Zoom is now offering granular control over the intensity of touch-ups and lighting adjustment. You can also change the brightness of the panel and amount of skin smoothing to look the best on video chats.
Zoom has also improved noise suppression during video calls to make disturbances like barking dogs, a whirring fan, and kids playing in the background minimal. “At the low setting, soft background music can complement a yoga class or game night. The high suppression feature gives the distraction-free audio for important meetings and presentations so one can sound their best,” said Zoom in a statement.
When you share your PowerPoint or Keynote presentations as a virtual background, you can overlay your video on the slides, similar to the weathercaster style. You can move your video to any part of the screen and even resize when needed.
To add fun to meetings, Zoom is now offering filters and you can use unicorn horns, eye patch or other filters to make others laugh. Also, you can use color filters and turn your video into a black-and-white photo as well. Lastly, you can even react with a dedicated ‘Reactions’ button with reactions like celebrate, laugh, or heart.
These features are accessible on Zoom 5.2. To limit this functionality, users can disable meeting filters at the account, group, and user levels in the Zoom web portal.
