Adhyayan Suman reveals with the success of Raaz 2, he became overconfident and signed 12 films since people were listing him alongside Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

After the success of his second film ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’, Adhyayan Suman disclosed that he signed twelve different films. The actor said he was thrilled to be famous, but it didn’t last long after his third film failed at the box office and because of that all of his projects were shelved.
Adhyayan Suman, who is son of actor Shekhar Suman, made his acting debut in 2008 with Bollywood film ‘Haal-e-Dil’.However, he achieved success with ‘Raaz 2’, which featured Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut. The Mohit Suri-directed film led him to be listed with other newcomers of the time, such as Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan.
In the latest episode of The Bombay Journey, Adhyayan shared, “I had signed 12 films. It would be wrong to lie, because somewhere I had started to feel cool. There was this over confidence that I had arrived. A newspaper had published its top five list, and it had Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan and then my name. So, I thought this is it, maza aa raha hai life mein. But the way life took a U-Turn after that, things changed.”
The actor disclosed when his third film ‘Jashnn’ didn’t work, “all 12 films were put on hold.” Adhyayan further added, “The film didn’t get a good release, though it was a beautiful film. But it didn’t work. I was acclaimed as an actor, but all the films were scrapped.”
Adhyayan Suman remembered wondering how his position in the film industry had altered so drastically in a matter of time while actors in his generation continued to make films despite critical failures. He further added, “I thought there are so many actors of my generation who are doing bad films, giving flop films but continue to do movies. Here I was, with one hit and one flop, phir bhi saara kaam bandh hogaya. Some years were spent thinking why is this happening to me. I realised it is best to look forward in life than mull or what or why something happened, how do I fight this.”
On the work front, Adhyayan Suman will be next seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. The show is centered on the lives of courtesans in Lahore and the life inside a red-light district in undivided India. It is set to stream on Netflix on May 1.
