Akshay Kumar thanks a retired Army officer for pointing out mistake in ‘Gorkha’ poster; Pooja Bedi reacts to Aryan Khan case, says ‘judicial system needs a major revamp’ | Hindi Movie News – Bollywood – Times of India

Akshay Kumar is all set to reunite with Aanand L Rai for the upcoming film ‘Gorkha’, which is based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, a legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army (5th Gorkha Rifles). Akshay will be essaying the role of the legendary war hero who fought in the wars of 1962, 1965, and most notably in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. On the occasion of Dusshera, Akshay made the official announcement. Sharing the first look posters with fans, the actor wrote, “Sometimes you come across stories so inspiring that you just want to make them. #Gorkha – on the life of legendary war hero, Major General Ian Cardozo is one such film. Honoured to essay the role of an icon and present this special film. Directed By – Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. However, an ex-Gorkha officer, Manik M Jolly, pointed out a major mistake in the poster. He mentioned that a traditional khukri was different from what the poster shows. He wrote, “Dear @akshaykumar ji, as an ex Gorkha officer, my thanks to you for making this movie. However, details matter. Kindly get the Khukri right. The sharp edge is on the other side. It is not a sword. Khukri strikes from inner side of blade. Ref pic of Khukri att. Thanks.” Akshay wrote back, “Dear Maj Jolly, thank you so much for pointing this out. We’ll take utmost care while filming. I’m very proud and honoured to be making Gorkha. Any suggestions to get it closest to reality would be most appreciated.”On the other hand, Pooja Bedi is the latest B-town celeb to extend her support to Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan Khan, who is currently in Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail in a drug case. Ever since Aryan’s name cropped up in the drug case, several celebs have come out to defend him and stand in solidarity with King Khan. While joining the bandwagon of such celebs, actress Pooja Bedi has now said that putting Aryan behind bars for no reason is ‘psychologically damaging’ him. Taking to her Twitter handle, while expressing her displeasure over the way this case is being handled, she tweeted, ‘If no drugs were found on #AryanKhan isn’t it appalling that an innocent kid is made to spend days & days in lockup? It’s psychologically damaging to be put in jail for no reason.’ She also advocated for revamping the judicial system of our country. In her tweet, she further adds, ‘The judicial system needs a major revamp… such systems create criminals by punishing innocents.’
