Akshay Kumar lost his mother Aruna Bhatia on September 8, she was unwell since past few days. After coming across the tragic news, several celebs rushed to the actor’s house to offer their condolences and pay their respect. Among those who visited Akshay’s house was also his ex-girlfriend and actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra. After kickstarting Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at her own house, the actress was snapped in white outside the Ashay’s home. Other than Shilpa, actor John Abraham, who happens to be Akshay’s friend and has co-starred with him in several films, was also clicked at his residence. On the other hand, from actor Riteish Deshmukh to filmmaker Rohit Shetty, many celebs had also arrived at the crematorium to pay their last respects to Akshay’s mother. Earlier, the actor, with a heavy heart, had informed his fans that his mother has passed away. Taking to his social media handle, the actor shared the news of his mother’s demise with the tweet, ‘She was my core. And I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti’. Akshay was very close to his mother and used to share pictures with her on various occasions. On Mother’s Day, the actor showered love on his mother with the special heartfelt note that reads, ‘Even in this day and age, you’re the only one whose one hand on my head can comfort me in troubled times because I know there’s nothing I can’t do with your blessings maa. Happy #MothersDay.’ Akshay always took out time for his mother, irrespective of his schedule. Recently also, he could not stay away from his mother as she was not well. So, he decided to fly back to India from the UK to attend to his ailing mother. The actor has been shooting for his film ‘Cinderella’ in the UK for the past couple of weeks.
