Shuttler PV Sindhu won the Commonwealth games 2022 gold medal in the women’s singles event. She beat Canadian Michelle Li 21-15, 21-13 to win the gold medal in straight sets. This is Sindhu’s first gold medal at the CWG as previously she had won the bronze in 2014 at Glasgow and the silver in 2018 at Gold Coast. Speaking after the match, Sindhu thanked her coach and support staff for helping her in remaining physically and mentally fit.
