Working with reduced manpower during the lockdown, Dehradun Municipal Corporation on Monday used drones to spray disinfectants to control the dengue in the capital after a two day’s trial. The civic body is being aided for use of drone technology for sanitisation carried out spraying at Laal Pool area on the first day. One drone was used to spray disinfectants on that area. The drone has a capacity to carry 10 litter disinfectants at a time and it can fly 20 min continuously and it can cover a stretch of 1.5 km. In the future drone will be used for sanitisation purposes.
