Forty-one airline crew members — 9 pilots and 32 cabin crew — were found tipsy in breath analyser (BA) tests conducted at Indian airports between January 1, 2022, and April 30, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Tuesday. Action against 7 more crew members was taken for missing BA test or not furnishing the declaration (that they are not tipsy). “Out of these, two pilots and two cabin crew have been suspended for a three years for testing positive second time. The remaining 37 crew members were suspended for three months for testing BA positive first time,” the DGCA said in a statement.
