Actor Gaurav Dixit granted bail in a drugs case on Rs. 50000 surety

A Mumbai court has granted bail to actor Gaurav Dixit in a drugs case, but with strict conditions. The court has asked him to furnish a surety amount of Rs 50,000. It also directed Gaurav not to leave the city without the prior permission & that he will have to report to NCB office on every Monday, Wednesday & Friday till filing of charge-sheet. Actor Gaurav Dixit was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on August 27 .The investigative agency had recovered large quantities of banned drugs such as ‘MD’ and ‘Charas’ in a raid at his house located in Lokhandwala. Gaurav was arrested after his name cropped up during the questioning of actor Ajaz Khan. After Gaurav’s arrest, NCB director Sameer Wankhede had told ETimes that the agency believes that Gaurav had supplied drugs to Ajaz Khan and they both were in touch with drug peddler Shadab Batata. According to some reports, Ajaz had a direct connection with Shadab Shaikh alias Shadab Batata. Both were in touch for the past three years and the actor had even bought some drugs from him. The drug peddler was arrested by NCB in May this year with drugs worth Rs 2 crore. Ajaz’s name came up during Shadab’s interrogation. Reports also say that the agency has recovered WhatsApp chats and a voice note shared between Ajaz and Shadab. However Ajaz’s advocate has maintained that ‘No drugs were recovered from his client’s house and the investigative agency took some medicines which belong to his wife.’ Coming back to Gaurav Dixit who will soon walk out of the jail. The actor has worked in films like ‘Happy Bhaag Jayegi’, ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’, ‘The Magic of Cinema’ and others. He was also seen in a TV show titled ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’.
