The Enforcement Directorate on August 2 raided the head office of National Herald newspaper and some other locations. The raids come after the questioning of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case. The raids were carried out under criminal sections of the multiple locations in Delhi including the head office of Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The case was registered about nine months ago after a trial court took cognisance of the Income Tax (I-T) department probe carried out on the basis of a private criminal complaint filed by former Bharatiya Janata Party MP Subramanian Swamy in 2013.
