Facebook brings dark mode, new voice effects and other features to Messenger Kids – Times of India

Facebook is adding new features to the Messenger Kids app. The company has introduced Dark Mode, the ability to add voice effects to voice messages and the ability to start games within a chat. All these features are available for iOS users only.
Users can turn on and off the dark mode from the Messenger Kids app settings. Otherwise, users can also opt to automatically change to Dark Mode as per the phone’s settings. Android users are said to receive the feature in the near future.
Messenger Kids users can choose from five different options to change their voice to sound like you’re talking into a seashell, or like a robot, ghost, gorilla or mouse. Voice effects can be added to voice messages by tapping on the “voice” mic icon, pressing and holding to record a message.
Similar to the dark mode, the voice effects feature is currently available for Apple iOS devices only.
Lastly, Facebook has introduced the ability to start games from within a chat. The feature enabled kids to play two-player games without having to leave the chat thread and go to the Explore tab to pick a game. As stated above, the ability for kids to start games from within Messenger chat threads is available for iOS users.
