Galaxy Watch: The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch may have a Classic variant – Times of India

Samsung earlier confirmed that it would launch a new Galaxy smartwatch this year. The tech giant recently confirmed about the One UI smartwatch interface it has codeveloped with Google. Since the new Galaxy smartwatch should come out later this year, the leaks of renders and other images have started appearing online. Now, a report by XDA Developers claims that there could be three variants of the watch — most likely to be called the Galaxy Watch4 — instead of just one. These would be Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic (two different models).
As per the report, references to the second variant were obtained by Thailand’s certification authority NBTC’s website. There are a total of three Galaxy Watch 4 models listed with model numbers SM-R875F, SM-R885F and SM-R895F, the last two being the Classic models. Based on this, the report claims that there are going to be at least three Galaxy Watch 4 models in the pipeline. Nothing has been confirmed by Samsung regarding this matter. All three are expected to come with WCDMA/LTE support. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic model could have a slightly different design than the regular model, with a more traditional look.
Samsung introduced OneUI Watch user experience at its event during the Mobile World Congress. The new interface is designed to make the Galaxy Watch and smartphone experience more connected. Samsung also confirmed that One UI Watch will be available for Galaxy Watch on the new — Wear OS + Tizen OS — platform that it has built with Google. Samsung claimed that it will bring performance enhancements, a more seamless experience between the Watch and Android smartphones, and access to an even greater number of applications. The company added that its upcoming Galaxy Watch will be the first to feature the new unified platform and One UI Watch, which will make its debut at the Unpacked event later this summer.
