Gauri Khan shares a glimpse from Karan Johar’s midnight birthday bash; says ‘you are truly the One and Only’ – Times of India

It is Karan Johar‘s 50th birthday today and the star director is getting all the love and appreciation from his fans, family and fellow B-town friends.

Joining the chorus of stars sending their love to the birthday boy was Gauri Khan. The star designer, took to her handle to share her heartfelt birthday wishes for KJo with a bunch of throwback pictures and also posted a clip from his midnight bash.

“Happy Birthday. You are truly the One & Only,” Gauri captioned the video that saw Karan ready to cut his three-tire cake as his friends including Farah Khan, Manish Malhotra, Prabal Gurung, Gauri Khan and many others stood around him and sang the birthday song.

Early this afternoon, Gauri also shared a couple of photos of the birthday boy from her personal photo albums. Sharing the throwback photos, she penned a heartfelt note that read, “Dearest Karan It’s the little things you do and say…that make you the person you are . . You listen and make everything right. Thank you for bringing so much love and laughter into all our lives. Best birthday wishes from my family to yours …love you”

On his 50th birthday, the filmmaker announced that he will now make an action film and will start shooting it on April 23.

He also unveiled the release date of his upcoming movie ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, and confirmed that it will release in time for Valentine’s week on February 10.

Karan took to Instagram, where he shared a “note of reflection and one of immense excitement”.

He wrote, “I turn 50 today (a number that seemed like a distant nightmare), while I know it is kind of a midpoint of my life but I can’t help my wannabee millenial self from existing. Some call it a midlife crisis, I proudly call it just ‘living life without any apologies’.”

He added that he has worked in the movie industry for over 27 years and feels blessed to have had the best experience ever.

“Telling stories creating content nurturing talent and watching the finest artists performing in front of my privileged eyes… These years are like being in a massive dream that made all the sleeplessness seem worthwhile! I am grateful for all the brickbats, bouquets, praising souls, the public trolls … all of it. It’s all been a huge part of my learning curve and self-growth.”

The director will host a star-studded party later this evening with all his B-town friends including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Malaika Arora and many others in attendance.
