General Stream Pass Percentage of TS Inter 2nd Year Exam Fluctuates: A look at past five years’ trends – Times of India

TS Inter Result Comparative Analysis over the past five years: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) recently announced the results for Classes 11 and 12. This year, girls continued their outperformance in both the first and second-year TS Inter examinations. While the overall pass percentage for Class 11 stood at 60.01%, it climbed to 64.19% for Class 12. Notably, the female pass rate was significantly higher: 68.35% for Class 11 and a remarkable 72.53% for Class 12 compared to the male pass rates of 58.5% and 56.1% respectively.
This trend aligns with the results observed over the past five years.A closer look at the data reveals some interesting patterns:
General Stream: Pass percentages in the general stream have fluctuated over the years. While 2021 saw a perfect 100% pass rate due to Covid-19 considerations, the years before and after witnessed a range between 61% and 69%. Interestingly, the 2024 results show a slight decrease in the first-year pass rate compared to 2023, while the second-year pass rate displayed a modest improvement.

In Telangana, the Inter results for the General Stream in 2024 reflected a consistent trend from the previous years. While the pass percentage for the first year remained relatively steady at around 61.06%, there was a slight increase in the pass percentage for the second year, reaching 69.46%. This indicates a positive trajectory in the academic performance of students over the two years, with more students successfully completing their Inter education.
Vocational Stream: The vocational stream has also seen variations in pass percentages. Similar to the general stream, 2021 boasted a 100% pass rate. However, the remaining years hovered around the 50% mark, with a slight increase observed in 2023 and a small dip again in 2024.

For the Vocational Stream in 2024 showcased a continuation of the upward trend seen in previous years. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, students in the vocational stream demonstrated resilience and proficiency, with a pass percentage of 50.57% in the first year and a notable improvement to 63.86% in the second year. This upward trajectory suggests the effectiveness of the vocational education system in equipping students with practical skills and preparing them for employment opportunities in various industries.
Going forward, it will be interesting to see if the trend of girls outperforming boys continues and whether the pass percentages in both streams stabilize or show a more consistent upward trajectory.
