Govt sets up two task forces to boost ease of doing biz – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The government has set up two task forces on conciliation mechanism and enforcing contracts to help accelerate ease of doing business in the country and address concerns of investors.
The task force on enforcement of contracts will be headed by vice chairman of government think tank Niti Aayog Rajiv Kumar and will have secretaries of DPIT, economic affairs, commerce as well as chief secretaries of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh as members.
The terms of reference of the task force includes setting up and operationalisation of an adequate number of dedicated commercial courts with the required infrastructure in major towns, clusters at the district level in all states to deal exclusively with commercial cases.
It will also examine the relevant provision of the commercial courts Act, 2015 on its jurisdiction over different categories of cases and pecuniary jurisdiction of commercial courts.
