The Defense Ministry has constituted Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Independence Day celebrations in all educational institutions. Addressing all the principals and heads of educational institutions, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has mentioned in an official notice that flat hosting will be conducted at 9 am in all the institutes.

SOP’s(notice) for Independence Day Celebrations 2022:
The MoD, in its first directive, said that it is mandatory for all educational institutions to start celebrating the Independence Day celebrations/unfurling of the national flag after 9 am. The next instruction suggests conducting the flag hoisting event in virtual or physical format depending on the COVID-19 situation. The Ministry of Defense encouraged all school students, teachers and staff as well as parents/guardians to participate in the programme.
“As the country celebrates the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, each school has been asked to create a craft project to honor the 75th anniversary of Independence Day and prominent freedom fighters in their areas. The SOP includes “Waste to Best”. Some waste materials should be included in the project, emphasizing the concepts of “Waste to Wealth”.
Additionally, the Defense Ministry has also asked schools and colleges to host MyGov Quiz. Every year on Independence Day, the Ministry of Defense in association with MyGov organizes an online quiz competition on a specific topic. In the same way this competition should be organized this year also.
Notably, those who come in the top ten of the quiz will be awarded a cash prize. First prize winner will get Rs. 25,000, and the second prize winner will get Rs 15,000. Whereas the winner of the third prize will be given Rs 10,000. The remaining seven contestants will also be given a consolation prize of Rs 5,000. This quiz is open to all students in class VI or higher.
Meanwhile, all educational institutions have been asked to encourage students to put up the national flag on their roofs under the theme “Har Ghar Tiranga” in honor of our freedom fighters.
