India reports 44,230 new cases and 555 deaths in 24 hours; recovery rate stands at 97.38% | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: With 44,230 new cases of Covid-19 having been reported in India in the last 24 hours, the cases graph has seen a marginal rise from 43,509 the previous day.

India’s total Covid cases now stand at 3,15,72,344 and the death toll has risen to 4,23,217 with 555 new deaths reported in 24 hours, the bulletin released by the Union health ministry on Friday stated.

The recovery rate was recorded at 97.38 per cent. At 2.43 per cent, the daily positivity rate remained below 5 per cent, according to ministry data.
India’s active caseload currently stands at 4,05,155 with a rise of 1,315 such cases in a span of 24 hours. Active cases at present constitute 1.28 per cent of the total cases of Covid.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 3,07,43,972 with 42,360 recoveries registered in 24 hours.

As many as 18,16,277 tests for Covid detection were conducted on Thursday, taking the total number of tests done so far in the country to 46,46,50,723.
The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.43 per cent, according to the health ministry.

Vaccine doses administered
India has so far administered 45,60,33,754 vaccine doses under the nationwide vaccination drive, the Union ministry said, adding that 51,83,180 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
