India vs South Africa, 2nd T20I: David Miller batted beautifully and I loved it, says Suryakumar Yadav | Cricket News – Times of India

GUWAHATI: India’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav appreciated the superb century scored by South African David Miller in the second T20I here on Sunday, which India won by 16 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Half-centuries from Surya (61) and KL Rahul (57), along with equally blistering knocks by Rohit Sharma (43) and Virat Kohli (49 not out), laid the foundation of India’s win, which was at one stage threatened by Miller (106 not out), who smashed his second T20I hundred but was not able to take his team across the line.
After posting a mammoth 237/3 on the board, India survived some nervous moments in the death overs before restricting South Africa to 221/3 for a close win.

“He (Miller) batted beautifully and I loved it,” said Surya.
He also shared his preparations before the game and the process that he follows to prepare for different situations.
“You just have to be planning really well when you are having the practice sessions about second-guessing the bowlers. When you are batting first, you can’t set a target and you just got to bat as deep as possible and get as many runs as possible,” said Surya.

“We were batting first, so it was very clear that I had to keep the tempo that was set by Rahul and Rohit, and I just went (in) and enjoyed myself,” expressed the star batter.
Quinton de Kock also played a valuable knock for the visitors, scoring 69 not out.
Arshdeep Singh bagged two wickets while Axar Patel took one.
