Indian troops crossed LAC on Monday, fired shots, alleges PLA | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Two days after the defence ministers of India and China met in Moscow, and two days ahead of the scheduled meeting between the foreign ministers, the People’s Liberation Army late Monday night accused Indian troops of “illegally crossing the Line of Actual Control at the shore of the God Pao Mountain area”.
“These are serious military provocations and are of a very bad nature,” PLA’s Western Theater Command spokesperson Col Zhang Shuili said. There was no response to the PLA statement till the time of going to press.
“During the operation, the Indian army blatantly fired threats to the patrol personnel of the Chinese border guards who had made representations, and the Chinese border guards were forced to take countermeasures to stabilise the situation on the ground,” the spokesman alleged.
He went on to add that India’s actions “seriously violated” the relevant agreements between China and India, raised regional tensions and caused misunderstanding.
“We request the Indian side to immediately stop dangerous actions, immediately withdraw cross-line personnel, strictly restrain front-line troops, and strictly investigate and punish personnel who fired shots to ensure that similar incidents do not occur again. Theater troops will resolutely perform their duties and missions and resolutely defend national territorial sovereignty,” he added.
