The Indo-French dual degree program launched under the aegis of the XEBS Ahluwalia Centre of Excellence in Sports Management (XEBS CESM) will be a game changer in the field of sports industry management with an MBA degree from Xavier University, Bhubaneswar and MSc degree from emlyon business school, France.
XEBS CESM has earlier launched two certificate programs in sports management. “Odisha is being called the sports capital of India. I am also excited to know that the Centre of Excellence has signed letters of intent with Tony Parker Adequat Academy and Decathlon India, which will provide great opportunities to students,” said the ambassador.
The programme offering multi-campus experience across Bhubaneswar (XUB campus) and Paris (emlyon business school campus) will be a full-time two-year residential program.
Sports and youth services minister Tusharkanti Behera said the launch of a dual degree master’s programme, is yet another milestone in Odisha’s sporting journey and strengthen the existing educational ties between the two countries.
After unveiling this dual degree master’s programme, Lenain along with Consul General, Consulate General of France in Calcutta, Virgine Corteval, and officials of XEBS and department of sports and youth services (DSYS) visited the Kalinga Stadium Complex. The ambassador took a tour of the high performance centres- Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre and Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance Centre (ABTP).
The tour concluded with DSYS secretary Vishal K Dev sharing the journey of sports in Odisha at the core of which lies world class infrastructure development, international sporting events, bouquet of high performance centres and grassroots programmes.
