Apart from fixing the aforementioned bug, the iPhone 14-only iOS update will also deal with and fix issues related to photos appearing soft while zooming in landscape mode on the iPhone 14 Pro Max and authentication for Enterprise single sign-on apps.
The would-be iPhone 14 owners need to take note that the iOS 16.0.1 is not an automatic security update and users need to manually install the update on their iPhones to fix the bugs.
The next major iOS 16 update would be the iOS 16.1 version that’s expected to add features like Shared Photo Library and Live Activities and perhaps will also bring the tech giant’s collaboration app Freeform.
iOS 16 adoption vs iOS 15 adoption
Apple users have taken to iOS 16 more readily than they did iOS 15, at least after 24 hours of the release of iOS 16, with the new OS slightly ahead in adoption when compared to its predecessor, a new report has claimed.
According to a report by Mixpanel, after 24 hours upon release on September 12, iOS 16 has been downloaded by 6.71% of users so far, which is more than iOS 15’s 6.48% after a day. Both the OS are, however, no match for iOS 14 though when it comes to adoption by users in the first 24 hours, with it being downloaded by 9.22% of users.
The quick adoption for iOS 14 may have been due to the coming of the widgets to the Home Screen of the iPhone back then, and people may have taken to the idea of having a personal, custom look to the iPhone screen, thus speeding up adoption. The iOS 16 has also done a similar thing, by giving the users the option to set up their lock screen in a more personal way and it might have proved popular.
