Awareness cum distribution programme on Lavender flowering species held in Pulwama district in South Kashmir on October 26. It was organised by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) under CSIR’s Aroma Mission at field station. CSIR, Government of India (GOI) launched the Floriculture Mission pan India for promotion of Commercial Floriculture. CSIR-IIIM Jammu is also implementing it in Jammu and Kashmir. Many officers and scientists, progressive farmers, young entrepreneurs and women cluster members of National Rural Livelihood Mission attended the programme. Planting material of different ornamental species were distributed among the farmers, women cluster members of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). Participating farmers and others lauded the step taken by the CSIR-IIIM. They helped people to understand the importance of aromatic plants and in future, they can also venture into this form of business.
