“This film unravels the legendary courtroom battle that Sankaran Nair fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Sankaran Nair’s bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth. The film is inspired from real life events and adapted from the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’ written by Raghu Palat (great=grandson of Sankaran Nair) and his wife, Pushpa Palat,” shared the filmmaker in a statement on social media.
Karan Johar’s production house will also be launch Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor in Bollywood. This film will be directed by Shashank Khaitan. Pepped about her debut, Shanaya recently told IANS, “I’m extremely excited and looking forward to shooting the film. I have been doing several readings with my director, and been having lots of discussions on my character brief and breakdown of the scenes.”
Apart from this, Karan Johar is also producing Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Brahmastra’. This sci-fi drama is directed by Ayan Mukerji and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. Karan Johar will also directing a period drama titled ‘Takht’. This ambitious movie stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles.
