Md Umar Kumar, a 26-year-old man hailing from Srinagar is working on reviving the dying art of glazed pottery in the Kashmir Valley. Mohammad Umar Kumar used to work with his father in his pottery shop. He realised after completing his schooling that an age-old art belonging to Kashmir Valley which was famous during 1980 has been dying. He decided to learn and revive it. He makes his products by using waste glass panes, used battery cells and a metal for colour combination.
