‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ weekend box office collection: Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer earns a total of Rs 37 crore – Times of India

Despite calls for boycott, Aamir Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is moving ahead at the box office, as compared to Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Raksha Bandhan’, which released on the same day. However, this adaptation of ‘Forrest Gump’ is not exactly minting big money at the box office.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ fell short of the 50 crore mark at the end of its four-day extended weekend and current trend suggests that the film may not hit the milestone even at the end of its five day extended-holiday period. On Sunday, the film added Rs 10.25 crore to its total, which stands at Rs 37.75 crore, reports boxofficeindia. ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ has performed well in Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana, with Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon circuits also recording a good collection. ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ has not fared well in South and Gujarat markets.

Recently, Hrithik Roshan watched the film and showered Aamir’s act with praise. “Just watched LAAL SINGH CHADDA. I felt the HEART of this movie. Pluses and minuses aside, this movie is just magnificent. Don’t miss this gem guys ! Go ! Go now. Watch it. It’s beautiful. Just beautiful,” Hrithik had tweeted. However, his post irked netizens, who started trending #BoycottVikramVedha on social media. Speaking about the ban being called over his movie, Aamir Khan had previously shared, “If I have hurt anyone by any means, I regret it. I don’t want to hurt anyone. If someone doesn’t want to watch the film, I’d respect their sentiment.”
