microsoft: Microsoft Store web version gets refreshed look, new features – Times of India

Last year, Microsoft released Windows 11 operating system with updated UI including rounded corners, Mica, and more. Few months later, the tech giant also started to update its apps with a similar design language. Now, the company has refreshed the web version of the Microsoft Store. Microsoft has also added a few new features to the portal along with Windows 11-like design theme.
To begin with, Microsoft has added a new search bar that will make it easier for you to find Windows apps. You will be able to spot the new search bar at the left side of the screen. Apart from this, you will also be able to see app categories right below the new search bar. The categories will make it easier for you to find an app for a certain purpose.
The company has also changed the overall design of the home page where you can see a slideshow of major apps at the top and other popular apps at the bottom. Microsoft has also redesigned the pages of individual apps. Now, you will be able to see the app icon at the top along with name and publisher. The page will also now show when the app was last updated.
One of the biggest changes the company has implemented in the Microsoft Store is the ability to download apps directly from the web version. As explained by Microsoft in June last year, you can now download and install apps directly from the Microsoft Store web page. Till now, when you click the download button, the page used to redirect you to the Microsoft Store app on the PC. Now, you just have to click on the “Get in Store app” button and confirm the install in the small pop-up window.
