Mobvoi is expected to soon announce a new “flagship” TicWatch which will run on Wear OS and will follow the recently released Montblanc Summit 3. According to a report by 9to5Google, a Reddit user has received a mail from Mobvoi seeking reviewers/testers for a new TicWatch that is “about to be released.” The report also mentions that the upcoming smartwatch is going to “join the Pixel Watch this fall” and the Galaxy Watch 5 which is expected to release earlier.
Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 4 expected features
In the Reddit post, Mobvoi has offered “five main features” ‘which include — “long duration battery, NFC payment compatible with Google Pay, IP68 waterproof, GPS, speaker and microphone, new IHB/AFiB detection, fatigue assessment and improved premium design, flagship model.”
For reference, Mobvoi’s latest Wear OS flagship, the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 4100, coupled with 1GB RAM and packs a 577mAh battery unit that promises 72 hours in the “Smart Mode.”
The report suggests that Google Pay NFC payments hint at the presence of Wear OS while IP68, GPS, and speaker/microphone are core specs of any modern smartwatch. Moreover, the report also mentions that “the Pro 3 Ultra already offers irregular heartbeat/atrial fibrillation and stress detection.” However, the Reddit email claims that improvements are expected.
With “improved premium design,” Mobvoi is expected to repeat the “existing look that all TicWatch Pro models have so far stuck to,” the report states. For physical navigation, two buttons and no rotating crown have been a common thing for the vanilla models, while the Pro variants usually come in a bigger size, the report adds.
