On November 25, prime minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the much anticipated Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. It will be spread across 5,000 acres of land along the Yamuna Expressway. The first phase of the airport’s development is expected to be completed by 2024 at a cost of Rs 10,050 crore. Once done, the airport will be capable of catering to 1.2 crore passengers in a year.
