Prabhas says he was ‘frightened’ to play Lord Ram in ‘Adipurush’ – Times of India

Prabhas and Kriti Sanon joined director ‘Adipurush’ in Ayodhya to launch the teaser of their much awaited mythological drama ‘Adipurush’. The film features Prabhas in the role of Lord Ram, while Saif Ali Khan essays the antagonist Ravan. Speaking about his lead role, Prabhas shared, “I was really frightened about the role. We have done this film with a lot of love and dedication.” At the launch, producer Bhushan Kumar had confirmed a fourth collaboration with Prabhas and stated, “Prabhas and I are doing a lot of films, this is our third and we have locked the fourth film too.”

Kriti Sanon essays the role of Sita in this epic. Speaking about her character Kriti had shared, “We have to obviously stay within a certain boundary and realize the weightage and the responsibility that come with the character that you are playing. Thankfully, I am in the hands of a brilliant director, someone who has done all the research on the subject and on all characters.”

Ahead of ‘Adipurush’ teaser launch, director Om Raut had penned a note of gratitude as his previous film ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, which received the prestigious National Award for the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. “A national award is truly special. It is not only the most prestigious award that one can aspire to receive, but also the one that recognises the very best in the field of arts and culture. I am truly blessed and humbled and will use this honour, that is bestowed upon me, as a symbol to try harder to entertain everyone for years to come. I’m grateful to the entire team of Tanhaji for this opportunity to let me tell the story of one of Maharashtra’s greatest warrior. Jai Hind. Jai Shivray,” the filmmaker had penned.
