Rajkummar Rao talks about his mother’s demise; says she took pride in her son being an actor – Times of India

Rajkummar Rao recently recalled receiving the news of his mother passing away when he was shooting for ‘Newton’ through his girlfriend Patralekhaa.

Spilling some beans on the same, the actor remembered giving a shot and exiting from the frame. He suddenly saw a boy running towards him with a phone. It was Patralekhaa’s phone and that is how he received the news.

Rajkummar further added that the flight back home was difficult for him and he had to get back to the set the very next day. The actor also revealed that he often lost control over his emotions while giving the shot but he knew he had to act since that’s what his mother would have wanted. Rajkummar also went on to say that his mother took pride in her son being an actor.

On their wedding day, Rajkummar made a shrine for his late parents and Patralekhaa’s father. The actor lost his mother Kamlesh Yadav in 2016 and his father Satyapal Yadav in 2019. Patralekhaa lost her dad in 2021.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajkummar has some very interesting projects in his pipeline which include, ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi alongside Janhvi Kapoor. He also has ‘HIT: The First Case’ co-starring Sanya Malhotra.
