“The HC’s decision to release the accused, just on technical ground, was totally unjustified. These accused, including Saibaba, are responsible for killing our brave policemen and commandos. Their families must have heaved a sigh of relief after the SC’s order today,” he told reporters.
Responding to a query whether the Maharashtra government failed to submit proper evidence in the HC, Fadnavis said they had provided clinching proofs, but the HC acquitted the accused on “very technical ground”. “We are now confident that the SC will hear the case in the right perspective and ensure justice to the martyrs’ families,” he said.
