Samsung Galaxy S22 expected to come with 200MP Olympus camera – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Consumer electronics giant Samsung is busy preparing for the launch of its next generation foldable smartphone and smartwatches. The company will reportedly host a Galaxy Unpacked event next month, where it will launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
Since, the company will not be launching a new Galaxy Note series smartphone, the Galaxy S22 launch will be the next big launch of the company. Now a new online report from Korea suggests that Samsung Galaxy S22 might come with a massive 200MP main camera.
According to an online report by Korean publication PulseNews, Samsung is said to incorporate a 200MP main sensor in the Galaxy S22. The report further adds that the new primary camera will be a part of a 5-camera setup. The report also suggests that Samsung has partnered with Olympus and the camera on the Galaxy S22 will be co-developed with the camera pioneer.
To recall, Olympus is a Japanese manufacturer of cameras and optical technology.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S22 smartphone series in January next year. The report also adds that the Samsung Galaxy S22 will also come with S Pen support. It is also said that Galaxy S22 will be the first smartphone of the company to come with the Samsung/AMD GPU.
Recently, Samsung increased the price of its affordable M-series smartphone. Launched in February this year, the Samsung Galaxy M02 has witnessed a price hike.
Post the price hike, the base variant of the Galaxy M02 that offers 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage will cost Rs 7,999. The second storage variant offering 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage will now be selling at Rs 8,499. Both variants of the Galaxy M02 are up for grabs at the new prices on Samsung’s official website, Amazon as well via offline channels.
